Barry's thoughts

Making meaning is secondary. I just produce. The patron says "I want something." For me it's creative endeavor, The rest of it is for others to figure out

I create from my source, I'm the facilitator. The problem I work on, the piece of art work, is the stage where the creative endeavor takes place I make it beautiful, sometimes intense.

I show the patron photographs of my work and ask "What do you see here that you like?" They choose parts of this and a section of that. I make notes, visit the site where the piece will go, then go back to my drawing board and make my fantasies and the patron's fantasies come together. The stage is the scenario that makes the creative endeavor work.

Also, when there is no stage, when there is no patron, I make the most outrageous thing I can think of for my own personal gratification and amazement. It's like sex, it's spiritual. I use all my resources and experiment.

While making the piece, I am in a place of pure spirituality. It's like waking up on a full moon night when there's light everywhere. It's like the tinkle of rain on water. Everything is feeling and understanding. Like the tingling on your fingertips when the feeling is coming back into your hands after working all day. It's like an orgasm. Making meaning is secondary.
